That issue was about a diet that keeps your abs flat. Of course, Ewin McGregor was on the cover. As the interview progressed, he revealed that he had skin cancer removed from under his eye.
Remember in the time this interview took place, about 2010, people were not so candid about the events that made them mere humans. However, McGregor is credited with this statement:
” It’s interesting that people used to think that smoking was glamorous.” One of his demons was that of his addiction to lighting up. “I used to think it was pretty cool.”
“When he realized that smoking is lethal he kicked the habit,” he says as he did drinking.
A Healthy Lifestyle
When asked how he quit smoking and drinking, he is reported to have said, “What matters most with any regime, whether it’s to lose weight or stop drinking or smoking? Your willingness to seek help, and your desire to say no more.”
“The voice in your head that says ‘I chose not to’ is what ultimately makes the difference. That is the difference between not changing and making changes that last.”
McGregor And Changes
“I wasn’t someone who could smoke or drink in moderation, recognizing that those things could kill me.” He admitted that breaking the habit wasn’t easy.
“I started visualizing the doctor telling me that he had cancer from smoking or that I was extremely ill because of how much I’d been drinking.”

Skin Cancer An Accumulative Condition
When an attention-getting big name like, Ewan McGregor shares that he had multiple cancerous moles removed in the early 2000s you understand that this can affect anyone.
Since that incident when his doctor explained his risks were increased when he smoked and drank? He dedicated himself to avoiding two habits that increase the risk of other cancers, which are smoking and drinking alcohol.
His skin color he could do nothing about. However, after realizing how much power his life habits had, either for good or for bad, he made choices.
He could do nothing to take away the damage done to his health in prior years. He couldn’t undo all the times he had spent too many hours in the sun with no protection. In the 1980s and 1990s when he was growing up, we were just finding out about protecting our skin.
Sun blocking clothing existed, but we knew it as old-fashioned and it was. Only old people covered up! Come to find out they were the wise ones.
As the trend for wearing less clothing has become more the norm, we are exposing our skin to the sun more often and for longer at a time. The ability of technology to give us access to more information. As research is done and conclusions happen, information is available.
The general public is finding out how we have not been doing ourselves a favor with our sun exposure.
Wearing our tank tops all day in the direct sun without sunscreen. You know how you have for years been in the sun. My Grandmother may have had to hang her laundry out on a clothesline. She got her bonnet on first. She knew she needed to protect herself from too much sun.
Our Choices Are Cooler
We can’t escape from the fact that our world is getting warmer. Forecasters tell us that here in our part of the world we will have less rain and clouds as the world heats up.

We just have to remain aware of how much we are in the sun. Taking control and moving those all day on the beach to exclude the hours from 10 AM until 4 PM in the summer when the rays are so direct.
